If we research. Talk to our elders( NOT JUST ONCE A YEAR OR AT HOLIDAYS OR WHEN THEY ARE NEAR DEATH!) They can and will tell us of past wars, Conflicts.Family members, friends, Lovers, etc lost in these wars.They will tell us about Granada,Korea, Vietnam, They will tell us about ww2 and about December 7 1941 A day that STILL LIVES IN INFAMY!They will tell us how as Vietnam veterans many return to many that disrespected them.Many will tell how strapping young men, strong beautiful women, return with the same in their spirit but with a war ravaged mind and body!They will tell you and me of former war veterans , all races, both sexes, privates to officers spending their lives in veterans facilities.
Bottom line.In this age where we ( I ) are fighting to live survive, TO KEEP OUR HOMES! Many in our society are fighting for their spirits, minds and for their very lives in many cities.
Remember there were and are men and women with a strong mind , spirit, determination, Gonads! Ovaries, etc THEY HAVE THE GUTS TO GO TO A WAR AND FIGHT! They have what it takes!
If not for health issues I may have decided to have been one of them .( AND OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER! ) The Vietnam war ended( Well Americas role in it did) When I was 13 so No I personally know not of what it is like to go to a foreign country and fight in a war.My brother and I did not have to deal with that.( My BIG BROTHER Michael B Nixon.was in ROTC In high school so I must tip my hat to him! )
I just know and feel. We MUST honor and deeply respect ALL of our veterans!
HATE WARS all you want . that is your decision to make. Hate those that cause them. I feel it is sad to often have so much hate , however many people do.
HEY. JUST DO NOT HATE THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT WENT AND ARE STILL GOING TO WARS! My LATE GREAT DAD ROBERT B NIXON was one in the forties HE CHOSE TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE ARMY AND ROSE IN RANKS( IN A THEN OPENLY RACIST NATION AND MILITARY) TO SARGENT AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED!Thank you DAD!
My Brother in law( BROTHER IN CHRIST! ) Mr Frank Sinkfield served and was honorably discharged( HE VOLUNTEERED ALSO AS A YOUNG BUCK!) Thanks Mr Frank! You had and still do have -alls Mr Frank! So many others. Many who's identities are still unknown...
So when many are marveling at 11 11 11 tomorrow . some may even say o! that is a good lottery number( No I do not play) Remember what and who ALL veteran's day is really about tomorrow!
